Can I bring a drone to Netherlands?

Yes. Drones under 250g allowed for recreational use. All drones must follow EASA rules. Registration required for drones with camera regardless of weight.

  • Registration with RDW (Netherlands Vehicle Authority) required for drones with camera

  • No registration for drones under 250g without camera (rare)

  • No-fly zones: Amsterdam city center (banned), Schiphol airport zone, crowds, nature reserves

  • Flying over Amsterdam canals, red light district, royal palaces prohibited

  • Fines starting at €350, can reach €9,000 for serious violations

  • Insurance recommended for all drones (not legally required for under 250g recreational)
