Can I bring a drone to Ireland?

Yes. Drones under 250g for recreational use have minimal restrictions. Drones over 250g require IAA registration and operator ID.

  • Drones under 250g (C0 class): no registration for recreational use

  • Drones 250g-25kg: registration with IAA required (€30, valid for 5 years)

  • Operator ID must be displayed on drone

  • No-fly zones: airports (5km), Dublin city center, military sites, national parks

  • Flying over crowds, sporting events, or sensitive sites prohibited

  • Fines up to €4,000 for violations (enforced)
