Can I bring a drone to Peru?

Yes. Drones under 2kg for recreational use are allowed without registration. Professional use requires DGAC permit. No-fly zones strictly enforced around archaeological sites.

  • Drones under 2kg for recreational use: no registration required

  • Professional/commercial drone use: permit from DGAC (Directorate General of Civil Aviation)

  • No-fly zones: Machu Picchu and all archaeological sites (drones strictly prohibited), airports (5km), government buildings, crowds

  • Flying over Nazca Lines is completely banned

  • Maximum altitude 120m, must maintain visual line of sight

  • Fines for flying over archaeological sites can be severe
