Can I bring a drone to Uruguay?

Yes. Drones under 250g for recreational use exempt from registration. Drones over 250g require registration with DINACIA. No-fly zones include Montevideo's Rambla and Punta del Este.

  • Drones over 250g: registration with DINACIA (Dirección Nacional de Aviación Civil) required

  • No-fly zones: Montevideo coast (Rambla), Punta del Este beaches (summer restrictions), airports (5km), government buildings, crowds

  • Maximum altitude 120m, must maintain visual line of sight

  • No insurance requirement for recreational drones under 2kg

  • Fines from UR 5 to UR 100 (approximately $250 to $5,000 USD)
