How do I handle emergencies while traveling alone?
Stay calm, know your local emergency numbers, and have a plan. Use safety apps, inform someone of your location, and contact local authorities or your embassy for serious situations.
Save local emergency numbers (police, ambulance, fire) and your country's embassy or consulate phone number in your phone before you travel.
Keep a copy of your passport, visa, and travel insurance information both digitally and on paper. Store them separately from the originals.
Share your itinerary and daily location with a trusted person back home. Check in with them at regular intervals.
