Can I bring a hammock on a cruise?
No, hammocks are generally prohibited on cruise ships. Carnival Cruise Line explicitly bans hammocks for safety reasons, and they will be removed if attempted. Disney Cruise Line also prohibits hammocks.
Hammocks cannot be hung on balconies due to safety concerns about weight capacity and load-bearing connections
A loosely hung hammock could blow overboard if untied, violating environmental policies
If purchased in port, you must declare it to security officers who will confiscate it and provide documentation for retrieval at the end of the cruise
Virgin Voyages ships are an exception, with hammocks properly installed and tested on guest balconies
