How do I choose the right travel insurance policy?

Compare policies based on your specific needs: destination, trip cost, health status, planned activities, and budget. Read policy wording carefully, especially exclusions.

  • Consider: where you're going, trip cost, your age, health status, and planned activities

  • Medical coverage: ensure adequate limits for your destination (higher for US, remote areas)

  • Compare quotes from multiple licensed providers

  • Look for: pre-existing condition waiver (if needed), adventure sports coverage (if planned), high medical evacuation limits

  • Read exclusions carefully, what's NOT covered is as important as what is

  • Consider Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) if you need maximum flexibility

  • Check your existing coverage (credit cards, health insurance) to avoid overlap
