Can I bring a kayak trailer on a ferry?
Yes. Most car ferries (Washington State Ferries, BC Ferries, European ferries) allow small trailers. You pay an additional trailer fee (typically $20-50).
Washington State Ferries: trailers under 22 feet allowed, additional fare equal to second vehicle
BC Ferries (Canada): kayak trailers allowed, extra fee based on length
European ferries (UK-France, Greece): trailers permitted, book as "vehicle with trailer"
Trailer must have proper lighting and hitch lock
Kayak must be securely strapped, loose kayaks are not permitted
Some small ferries (island routes) may not accept trailers, check before booking
Ferry staff may inspect tie-downs before boarding
