Can I bring a drone to Chile?

Yes. All drones must be registered with DGAC Chile. Drones under 200g have simplified registration. No-fly zones include Santiago city center and all national parks.

  • Registration with DGAC (Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil) required

  • Drones under 200g: simplified online registration

  • Drones over 200g: full registration with operator ID displayed on drone

  • No-fly zones: Santiago city center (restricted), airports (5km), national parks, borders, crowds

  • Easter Island: drones completely banned

  • Liability insurance required for drones over 500g

  • Fines from 5 to 1,000 UTM (approximately $300 to $60,000 USD)
