Can I travel from the US to Canada for a match without a passport?

No, a valid passport is required to cross the US-Canada border. Match tickets do not guarantee entry into Canada.

  • There is no special FIFA visa for Canada — all travelers will be assessed under standard immigration rules

  • US nationals are not required to obtain an eTA, but a valid passport remains the most widely accepted travel document 

  • CBSA recommends using Advance Declaration program up to 72 hours before arrival at 10 Canadian airports including Toronto and Vancouver
