Can I travel between Mexican host cities by train?

Not directly - Mexico does not have passenger train service between its host cities. Travel between Mexico City and Guadalajara requires bus or air travel.

  • Mexico City to Guadalajara: approximately 580 miles - Mexico's group stage travel includes both cities

  • El Tri opens at Estadio Azteca (Mexico City) vs South Africa, then moves to Akron Stadium (near Guadalajara) for South Korea, then returns to Mexico City

  • No passenger train service connects these cities

  • Options: fly (approx 1.5 hours), take a luxury bus (approx 6-7 hours), or drive (approx 6 hours)

  • Mexico has the least demanding travel schedule of all co-hosts at 580 miles total
