What is the difference between single trip and annual travel insurance?

Single trip insurance covers one specific trip from departure to return. Annual (multi-trip) insurance covers all trips taken during a 12-month period, up to a maximum trip duration (typically 30-60 days per trip).

  • Single trip: best for one-off vacations, covers that specific trip's duration

  • Annual/multi-trip: best for frequent travelers (3+ trips per year), covers all trips within policy period

  • Annual policies typically cover each trip up to a maximum duration (30-45 days per trip)

  • Annual plans are more cost-effective for travelers taking multiple trips

  • Single trip plans may have higher coverage limits for medical expenses and evacuation

  • Both types include trip cancellation, medical, baggage, and delay coverage
