Can I bring a scuba diving regulator in my carry-on?
Yes. Regulators are generally allowed in carry-on. However, the scuba tank itself must be completely empty with valve removed. Regulators without tanks are fine.
Regulators without tanks are standard personal items, allowed in carry-on and checked bags
Scuba tanks are prohibited unless completely empty with valve removed (open for inspection)
The tank interior must be open to inspection, security may require valve to be unscrewed
Tanks pressurized below 2 Bar are not restricted as hazardous materials but still require inspection
Place small regulator parts (o-rings, washers) in a zip lock bag to prevent loss
Bring spare o-rings for reassembling after security
