Can I bring a gaming laptop as a personal item?

Yes. Gaming laptops are allowed as personal items, but they must fit under the seat. Large gaming laptops (17+ inches) may exceed personal item size limits and count as carry-on.

  • Gaming laptops are treated the same as any laptop under TSA rules

  • Must be removed from bag for separate X-ray screening in standard security lanes

  • TSA PreCheck members can leave laptops inside bags

  • Personal item size limits vary by airline (typically 18" x 14" x 8")

  • Large gaming laptops (17-18 inches) may not fit under seat, count as carry-on instead

  • Lithium batteries must remain in carry-on (never checked)
