Can I bring a fireplace lighter on a plane?

No. Torch lighters (blue flame) are completely banned in both carry-on and checked bags.

  • Torch/blue flame lighters: completely banned, even empty

  • Standard disposable lighters (Bic): one allowed in carry-on only

  • Zippo lighters without fuel: allowed in checked bags

  • Matches: one book of safety matches allowed in carry-on

  • Strike-anywhere matches: banned
