Can I bring a defibrillator on a plane?
Yes. Personal defibrillators (AEDs) are allowed in carry-on and checked bags. Lithium batteries must follow FAA battery rules.
AEDs are medical devices, permitted on all flights
If containing lithium battery, must be carried in carry-on (not checked)
Spare batteries for AED must have terminals protected from short circuit
Notify airline in advance if possible
Airlines must accommodate medical devices under federal law
